Earth to Richardson, It’s Called “No Comment”
Oh, Lord.
Richardson, who supports civil unions, was asked if he would veto a gay marriage bill because he believed in his heart that same-sex marriage is wrong. He replied, “I don’t want to get into that. I thought you guys were going to ask me about other stuff. Don’t you care about other stuff?” — NY Daily News
Not your finest moment, guv’ner. You know, I liked what Richardson said when I saw him speak at YK2, but the man has been walking around with his fly open this week. He needs to get a grip.
It’s impossible to be all things to all people. Decide where you stand and stick to it. You’ll loose some votes, but you never had them all to begin with.

I agree with Bill Richardson. I’m sure he’d sign any pro-civil rights bill that comes his way, but can we please, pppllleeeaaassseee stop talking about gay issues in election years? Are you dems trying to lose elections???

It’s not his position I was rolling my eyes over, Jersey, but his ham handed answer to the question. If he had a clear cut position and response, he would have come off better.

He’s a homophobe. At least a republican would be given the same response, don’t forget he also said he doesn’t believe people are born gay.

He needs to just say where he is on this and move on. I agree, Tos, he’s got issues here.
