I can see the commercial now. Obama wagging his finger at the camera saying "I didn't have relations with that pin...the American flag."

The difference between the Reagan/religion stance and the Obama/patriotism stance is that Reagan wasn't running for a religious office and it has been oft times discussed in many presidential runs of not having religion influence a politicians stance. Remember Kennedy and the worry about his being Catholic? If Reagan had of taken off his flag and made it a point of having done so as did Obama, he would not have been elected. If someone running for pope did not wear his religion on his sleeve he would not be elected pope. While people do want to a seperation with a politician and religion, they do not want to see a seperation of a politician and the flag. I think Obama made a calculated move to appeal more to the left wing of the party and I believe it was a mistake. I know he said that taking the pin off had nothing to do with his patriotism however perception is reality in politics and I believe the majority will see that as a slap at America, even though it was not intended that way. If he does win the primary I believe this will come back to haunt him.

My two biggest objections to hillary are her vote on the war and the fact that there would be 24 to 28 years of bush / clinton.

I actually agree... I didn't even notice that he was wearing the pin before.

I like would Bill Maher said last night... "The candidates from the two parties sound like they are running for two different countries"

I hope American's are smart enough to break the Bush/Clinton cycle more than anything.
